Gateway ICT Polytechnic Saapade Graduated 248 Students at 5th Combined Convocation With Outstanding Students Receiving 2 Million Cash, Other Gifts Largesse Each Induction of 5 VIP Dignitaries with Prestigious Fellowship Award
The 3 overall best performing outstanding students of Gateway ICT Polytechnic, Saapade, Ishara were mesmerized especially at the 2million cash gifts largesse received from Ogun State Government and other gifts from other donors, during the just concluded 5th Convocation Ceremony held at PDA Leadership Development Centre auditorium Hall, that equally witnessed endorsement induction of 5 VIP Dignitaries into the Institution Hall of Fame with prestigious Fellowship Award
The whole Ishara Community alongside other Remo Communities, that are hosting the prestigious Gateway ICT Polytechnic on behalf of the Remos, was agog while the Institution's immediate environment were experiencing behieve of different celebrations and celebrities among students whom are graduants and their respective well wishers that throng the Institution compound venue, to felicitate with each graduate celebrant and Governing Body along with the Management, now having a combined 3 in one graduants Convocation on said day.
Uniquely obvious were different blasting of popular music from different DJs engaged by different celebrants along with different Department and Associations who intended having their own respective fun, celebrating with the celebrants formerly among them.
However one outstanding performance was that of an outdoor online Radio Station, referred Gateway Polytechnic Saapade online Radio Station aka GAPOSA FM, presenting the Mass Communication Department that was continually running instant happenings of the convocation through "Live Broadcast" from the speakers deliberately placed at the entrance to the school auditorium named after Ogun State Governor, HE Prince Dapo Abiodun CON, singing "Stand up for the champions", one would not only marvel at the audacity of the "Outdoor online Radio Broadcast" scenes on display but would be more curious at whatever could be happening inside the main hall where the actual event is taking place.
However the "stand up for the champions" music outside eventually became the crux of the day's event when 3 outstanding overall best students at each past set were called out for special recognition celebrations with the Ogun State government acknowledging their starling academic performance and subsequently awarded each with 2 million cash plus other gifts as largesse for proving themselves worthy among their respective contemporaries.
Subsequently everyone present, including special invited dignitaries, royal fathers, lecturers, guests families, students, etc eventually stood up to give sterling aviation when each was called out for various awards as best overall performing students per related session and courses during their respective set.
Simulating and challenging the graduands according to the 3rd Rector of the Gateway ICT Polytechnic, Dr Sanni Kehinde Oseni, Today we celebrate the perseverance and zealousness of our graduates in pursuing their academics. Triumphantly, you have surmounted the hurdles of the four walls of tertiary education: academic pressure, societal expectations, and personal challenges. I therefore challenge you to go forth boldly, dear graduands, as a touch bearer of innovation, excellence and resilience. The world awaits your brilliance, rises to the challenge, shapes the future and never stops striving for grateness. Congratulations and may your journey be nothing short of extraordinary.
Speaking to his employer and Governing Body of the institution, Mr Rector listed his achievements, seeking more support from both parties and actually presented the scorecard concerning the day's event.
Hearing him he goes further saying: Your Excellency, I'm pleased to inform you that today, we have 248 graduants who have satisfactory distinguished themselves in fulfilling the requirements for the awards of their diplomas. Today, we are proud to inform you that for this combined 5th Convocation ceremony, 80 students had distinctions at the National Diploma and 168 distinctions at the Higher National Diploma levels respectively in the three sessions.
Cumulatively during the event, Fellowship Award's were bestowed on 5 eminent personalities namely
Hon. Kunle Sonane, Founder of Value Jet Aviation Company; Engr. Ogundeyin Adetokunbo, Founder of Proforce Defence Technology; Mr Odutola Oluseni Mobolurin, Chairman, First City Monument Bank, Ltd; Now late RT Hon Mrs Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga, Chairman, House Committee on Women Affairs and Social Development and Aare Adetola Emmanuel King, founder, Adron Homes & Properties.
The event was graced by His Excellency, Ogun State Governor, and Visitor, The Gateway ICT Polytechnic, Saapade, Prince Dr. Dapo Abiodun CON, ably represented by Engr Mrs Noimot Salako Oyedele, Deputy Governor of Ogun State.
